A Real Love Letter

I AM NOT one of those mushy gushy heartfelt type of girls, who paints a picture Cinderella worthy of her marriage. That isn't real! So as of June 7th,2014 I have been married to my best friend for 11 years. They have not been an easy 11 years(14 total), nothing worth it is ever easy! So what do you get the guy who will buy himself whatever he wants at the drop of a hat? A Blog Post :)

Dear You-
Tomorrow marks 11 years since we got married. Somehow it seems like more. 14 years ago you stole my heart and didn't give it back. When I look back on that day now, all that matters was that we said I DO! Gosh what a stressful day that was. Nothing was on time, nothing went according to plan and if it could go wrong I am pretty sure it did. It was by no means anyone's fairytale wedding (if you are an outsider reading this.. HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER!) There was so many other "issues" that took away from it being "our day". For heaven's sake my dad went to jail that day ha ha!

All that aside the one thing that was meant to happen did. I got to officially become your wife, and start a new chapter in lives. Sure by this point we had a 1 year old and were buying a house! Backwards isn't always the easiest way but it sure seems to be the way things work out for us.  In the last 11 years we have sank to the bottom and crawled back up only to be hit over the head and knocked back in the ditch. No matter what has happened though it has always been .. to US.. for US..because of US, there has never been a you or a me. I remember a night (12 years and 9ish months ago) when a very serious conversation took place. I said "I was going to do this" your instant reply was "WE were going to do this". It's been We ever since, not once have you let anything or anyone come between that.
How could I not love you with all my heart?

As I write this I am sitting at home alone because you got called into work when you thought we were going to have the day together. (Readers: He's an oilfield man, our time together is precious and sometimes rare) I am biting my tongue and attempting my very best not to be a bitter brat! Most days I deal perfectly well with your job it's just the important days that make me a smidge cranky! So if I bite your head off when you call.. ignore it I will get over it! Your job, or you doing your job is one of the things I admire about you most. You never quit or give up on anything. You go above and beyond for your family every day of the week.

So until you are home to celebrate this will have to do.
11 Things I love about you all at the same time.
1. You are goofy as hell! We rarely take like seriously and I wouldn't have it any other way!
2. You are a terrible Liar
3.Your Eye's
4.Your Loyalty
5. Your Honesty- some days it's a double edged sword.
6.I love that when you want something you sneak up behind me for a hug, I always see it coming!
7.You push me to my limits.. to be a better me.
8. Somedays you know me better than you probably should!
9.You are a great Dad.. you spoil them rotten.
10.You are a pretty snazzy cook!
11.You accept me.. for me!

12.You still can't "tell me something"

I love you more than all the stars in the sky

8 months of Visalus!

8 months ago today I started what I thought was gonna be some plan to appease my husband. I had no idea drinking that first shake was going to change my whole entire life. Open so many doors for me, help me find who I am and who I was meant to be. Improve some relationships, worsen others lol, give me life long friends across the country and a chance to be apart of a community that wants to set out and change the world! Matt always says there are two times you get involved in Visalus..1st was this day when I chose to set a goal and follow through with it. 2nd is the day this amazing company and it's mission get's into you! Most people don't get it and think I am over here blowing smoke.. but to the ones that do... TOLD U SO!!!

Dear Non-Believer

So my morning rant is brought to you by a facebook status that stated : " No we are not getting married, We don't need a piece of paper to validate our love for one another, Marriage is for fools"

First off- I am married and a wedding planner so obviously if I didn't believe in them I would be both divorced and unemployed!

Here is why I think your off, I am not saying your wrong just a little off. Long before marriage was a legal " piece of paper" situation, it was a Spiritual one. Yes somewhere along the line our ancestors screwed that one up by inventing the arranged marriage for greedy reasons. So if that is where your coming from I so get that. There are also a million reasons not to rush into marriage; timing-children-etc.. and I also understand that. It's the fools who blatantly state that the whole concept is a sham. I just really can't believe that. If you had that kind of love you would want to stand up in front of your God or Gods or Gurus or whoever it is you look up to and your family and friends and you would want the whole world to know that being with that person is exactly where you know at that point in time you were meant to be.
I also think this is a common I have been through a divorce or badly broken statement. Which is a big load of "get over it" waiting to happen. Without risk there is no reward . So you fell flat on your face. Get up wipe the dust off and get back into life. Somewhere out there is someone, while they probably can't heal the broken parts of your heart completely, they can be the glue that puts you back together.

I guess what I am saying is find the love in life. Not the fake it until I believe it happy. (although that is better than bitter Bertha) but find something that puts the spark inside you to not a flicker but an all out raging wild fire. Eventually your spark with find it's match, probably when you stop looking for it. Then you'll know and you'll eat your words!

Final thought: Don't take for granted something so simple as a piece of paper cause they are people out there who would give the world to have one.

Words that changed my life!

If you're brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting, which can be anything from your house to bitter, old resentments, and set out on a truth-seeking journey, either externally or internally, and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher and if you are prepared, most of all, to face and forgive some very difficult realities about yourself, then the truth will not be withheld from you.

This is from the movie "Eat Pray Love" One very lonely bitter night alone with this movie changed my entire outlook on my life. In my very first blog post I wrote I believed my word was lost. I no longer believe that. I now have so many words that I am not so sure which one to pick! If I had to sum them all up somewhere between (Inspired;Hungry;Determined;Loved;Optimistic) would be where I would find little ol me.

Happy Reading
